The College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) recently celebrated Science and Technology Week, a week-long event that honored the students and professionals who contribute to advancements in the field of science and technology. The week began with a keynote address from Dr. Nita A. Farahany, a respected scholar in the ethics of emerging technologies and author of the book The Battle for Your Brain: Defending Your Right to Think Freely in the Age of Neurotechnology. Her address focused on neurotechnology impacts, cognitive privacy laws, and the future of cognitive freedom.

The second day of Science and Technology Week featured the CONNECT Event, hosted by Cast Connections. This panel-led event provided a platform for students to network with recent alumni. The focus was on effective networking, conflict resolution, proper communication, and leadership skills.

At the end of the week, CAST celebrated its alumni with an induction into the Academy of Achievement. The Academy recognizes alumni who are considered “thought leaders” in their respective fields, serving as an inspiration to others with similar career paths.
