Seventeen student-athletes recognized as Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars at Bearcats school

As a journalist, I have rewritten the article to make it unique. Here’s my version:

David Cohen serves as the Director of Strategic Brand Engagement. Recently, seventeen University of Cincinnati student-athletes were honored with the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards, presented by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. Eleven of these scholarships went to women’s student-athletes, with basketball and soccer leading the way with three each.

The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards recognize students of color who excel academically and athletically while also demonstrating a commitment to community service and leadership roles. These scholarships are inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr.’s dedication to education and love for tennis, and U.S colleges and universities are invited to participate in this annual program by nominating their outstanding sports scholars.

The full list of honorees can be found on the university’s website, including some outstanding student-athletes such as Jordan Young and Ken Willis from football, Viktor Lakhin from men’s basketball, Dani Mlkvy from lacrosse, and Mia Hensley from women’s swimming and diving among others. These student-athletes embody the values of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards through their dedication to their sport, academic studies, community service, and leadership roles. Congratulations to all awardees for their hard work and achievements!
