Cruise ship collision leaves victim with severe injuries including broken organs and severed arms

On April 19, a 36-year-old male tour guide in Ho Chi Minh City suffered severe injuries after a boat he was on carrying 42 foreign guests collided with a ferry on the Tien River. The patient’s injuries included a severed elbow, traumatic shock, ruptured organs, and multiple broken bones. Dr. Le Dinh Hai from the Department of Trauma and Orthopedics at Cho Ray Hospital stated that the patient was in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital.

Following the accident, investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision. Both the ship’s crew and the ferry driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs. The company is working with authorities to understand the circumstances that led to the accident. The incident left several passengers requiring treatment at a nearby hospital, including German and French tourists.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical team, they were not able to save his arm. This case highlights the dangers of water transportation and the importance of safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. The company and authorities are working together to ensure the safety of passengers in the future by implementing stricter safety measures on boats operating on Vietnamese waters.
