Fifth place achieved by Beacon Academy’s Science Olympiad team in state competition

The Beacon Academy Science Olympiad team recently competed at the Illinois State competition held at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This marked the second year in a row that the team earned a bid to participate at this level. The competition featured 25 high school teams from across the state, all vying for top honors in a series of events that tested their knowledge of science concepts, process skills, and applications.

The Beacon Academy Trailblazers had an outstanding weekend at the competition, excelling in their individual events and as a team. They placed highly in several categories, including Codebusters, Fermi Questions, Forensics, Geological Mapping, Microbe Mission, Robot Tour, Tower, and Wind Power.

Throughout the season, the Beacon Academy team demonstrated positive attitudes and exceptional teamwork while consistently applying their scientific knowledge under pressure. Their performance was exceptional across all 23 events they participated in. Congratulations to them on an incredible Science Olympiad season!
