Jeremy Roach, ex-Duke guard, decides to transfer to Baylor

In a social media post on Sunday, 6-foot-1 guard Jeremy Roach announced that he will be playing his final college season at Baylor. Roach previously declared for the NBA draft and entered the transfer portal if he were to return to college.

During his time at Duke, Roach started in 108 out of 130 games over four seasons, averaging 14.0 points and 3.3 assists in his final season as the Blue Devils made it to the NCAA Elite Eight. However, their season came to an end with a loss to North Carolina State at the Dallas Mavericks’ home arena, which is close to the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas.

Roach still has one year of eligibility remaining, which was granted by the NCAA to players who competed during the pandemic-impacted season of 2020-21. He began his time at Duke as a freshman on a team that missed the NCAA Tournament, ending the school’s streak of 24 consecutive bids. However, Roach went on to become a three-year starter, playing under both Mike Krzyzewski in his final season and Jon Scheyer in the following two seasons.
