Penn State Class of 2024 Welcomes World Series Champion Dexter Fowler as Graduate

Dexter Fowler, a former Chicago Cubs centerfielder and World Series champion, recently earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational and Professional Communication from Penn State. Fowler, who was a student marshal at his graduation ceremony, played in the majors from 2008-2021 with stints on various teams including the Rockies, Astros, Cubs, Cardinals, and Angels. He was an All-Star in 2016 and won the World Series with Chicago that same year.

Fowler’s parents always emphasized the importance of education and encouraged him to finish his studies before pursuing a career in baseball. Despite his successful baseball career, Fowler honored their wishes by returning to school and earning his degree. He studied with Penn State’s World Campus and graduated from the College of Liberal Arts in a ceremony on Saturday, May 4th.

In addition to his baseball career, Fowler also owns two companies and provides on-air baseball analysis for ESPN, NBC Sports, and FOX Sports. His commitment to education and dedication to his promise show his strong work ethic and integrity. Congratulations to Dexter Fowler on this well-deserved achievement!
