Bartlesville High baseball ended its District season on a high note with a two-game sweep over Muskogee on Tuesday night at Rigdon Field. The Bruins secured a seventh-place finish in 6A-District 3, giving their senior players a memorable night to celebrate their achievements.

Bartlesville took control of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring three runs and establishing a 3-0 lead that they maintained until the end. A string of six consecutive batters reaching base, five of them through singles, allowed Bartlesville to score first. Brett Eaves’ base hit drove in Brenden Asher to kickstart the scoring, with help from a Muskogee error.

In his final pitching appearance at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium as a Bruin, Brenden Asher delivered an outstanding performance. He pitched a complete seven innings, allowing only one unearned run while working around seven hits. Asher showcased his skills by striking out five of the seven batters in the last two innings, including a crucial strikeout to end the game.

With the District season now complete, Bartlesville will eagerly anticipate its Regional pairing as they prepare for the postseason. The playoffs are expected to begin next week on either Wednesday or Thursday, providing the team with an opportunity to continue their successful momentum.
