The video footage recorded the critical moments leading up to the fire, showing two unidentified men inspecting the store before returning with a rock to break the glass. They proceeded to throw gasoline on the building and ignite it, resulting in the destruction of everything that store owner Indira Ortega had painstakingly built.
Despite the devastating setback, Ortega remains determined not to abandon her plans of reopening the business. When she arrived on the scene, firefighters had already extinguished the flames that had rapidly spread throughout the establishment while the suspects fled on a scooter. Officials are actively delving into the incident, gathering evidence to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for the arson attack.
Ortega stated to NBC6 that she has suspicions about the identities of the arsonists but that matter is currently under investigation. She mentioned that they have a potential lead regarding an individual responsible for destroying her business which resulted in approximately $45,000 in damages.
