Presentation of the South Caucasus Situation at NATO Headquarters by Vahan Kostanyan

During a recent visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan discussed the current security situation and challenges in the South Caucasus. He also shared insights into the ongoing process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Foreign Ministry report mentioned that talks on normalizing relations with Turkey, a NATO member, took place during the visit as well.

In his speech, Kostanyan emphasized the significance of Armenia’s participation in the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance nearly thirty years ago as a crucial step towards enhancing cooperation between Armenia and NATO. He highlighted Armenia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with both NATO and its member states to enhance defense and security capabilities.

The discussions also touched upon international security issues of common interest, reflecting Armenia’s commitment to engage in productive cooperation with NATO and its member states. Overall, the visit to NATO headquarters served as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and collaboration on matters of regional and global security concern.
