Armand Duplantis: The Pole Vaulter Sensation Who Just Broke Yet Another World Record

Sweden’s Armand Duplantis is a world record-breaking pole vaulter who has just set his eighth world record at the season’s first Diamond League meeting in Xiamen, China. The 24-year-old cleared the bar at 6.24 meters, putting him eight centimeters ahead of anyone else in the discipline. Not only did Duplantis underline his dominance, but he also surpassed his competitors by more than 40 centimeters. Celebrating with his team and the crowd, he showed off his talent as he cleared every vault on his first attempt, even sailing over his record-breaking one.

In an interview with CNN in April, Duplantis expressed that he hasn’t reached his peak yet and plans to continue pushing his limits and be dominant in the sport. He aspires to win every competition and give his best at every meet. As the Paris Olympic Games approach, Duplantis made it known that he is determined to make a statement and show everyone what he is capable of achieving.

At the same meet, Christian Coleman from the USA won the men’s 100 meters, followed closely by his compatriot Fred Kerley and Jamaica’s Ackeem Blake. In a thrilling women’s 200 meters race, 19-year-old Torrie Lewis surprised everyone by winning her first Diamond League victory, while USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson finished second after a strong push from the Australian contender.
