300 thousand more workers celebrate on May 1st this year

In February 2024, Italy’s employment picture continued to improve, with an increase of 292,000 people compared to April 2023, according to the latest provisional data from Istat. This means that almost 300,000 more workers are celebrating May 1st this year compared to last year. The CGIA Research Office highlighted the importance of supporting small entrepreneurs in improving employment trends by cutting taxes, reducing bureaucracy, and providing necessary liquidity for investments to increase competitiveness.

The artisans of Mestre noted that 98 percent of companies in Italy have fewer than 20 employees, and around 60 percent of Italian workers are employed by these small businesses. In 2023, the number of employed people in Italy reached 23.6 million units, with a significant growth in the Southern regions. Forecasts indicate that the overall number of employed people is expected to reach 24 million by 2025. The research office also highlighted that there was an increase in the number of employees with fixed-term contracts in 2023, with a significant rise in highly specialized workers and skilled workers. Additionally, the incidence of permanent job positions increased by 5 percent compared to the pre-pandemic period.

During forum discussions on various topics ranging from house renovation tips to summer vacation plans, participants also discussed hormonal balance and its impact on the body. The CGIA emphasized that supporting small entrepreneurs is crucial for improving employment trends and urged policymakers to implement policies aimed at reducing bureaucracy and increasing liquidity for investments to boost competitiveness.
