Managers accused of bullying at Charleroi Airport assigned different responsibilities

The management of Charleroi airport has announced the reassignment of two managers accused of bullying by staff in a bid to prevent strikes, which unions had planned for Wednesday. The BSCA spokesperson made this announcement on Friday afternoon, stating that these reassignments are precautionary measures that will be in effect during an internal auditor’s investigation. Yves Lambot of the Christian employee union CNE expressed positivity towards the decision to suspend the two managers but expressed regret that the measure is still preventive at this stage. He mentioned that the case will first be investigated by an internal auditor and then by the labor auditor’s office before final decisions are made.

The strike notice is still in effect until May 15, and management is concerned that any personnel action could have consequences for the airport, especially since around 500,000 passengers are expected in the next two weeks with the start of the spring holidays in French-speaking Belgium.
