In the consolation game of the National Christian School basketball tournament, the Chautauqua Christian Academy Defenders pulled off a thrilling victory over Faith Christian of West Virginia. With only 30 seconds left on the clock and trailing by five points, Sawyer Lynn drilled a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer to lead the Defenders to a final score of 67-60.
The Defenders had a strong showing throughout the tournament, finishing third in Division 5 after falling short to the eventual champions in the quarterfinals. Despite this setback, they refused to give up and demonstrated their resilience by mounting a comeback from behind in the final minute of regulation time.
Lynn’s impressive performance was instrumental in leading his team to victory, with his 19 points including three crucial 3-pointers. Junior Marcus Ryan stood out with an outstanding 34-point game, while Hunter Edwards contributed 10 valuable rebounds and Kayden Peterson shone on defense all season long.
