Motorway Closure from Paris to Vaucresson Extended Until Monday Due to Ground Movement

On Thursday evening, the A13 motorway connecting the Paris ring road to A86 was closed in both directions due to a large crack discovered between the viaduct and the Saint-Cloud tunnel. The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture announced that the closure would remain in effect until at least Monday, with a potential reopening next week depending on further studies. An update on the situation will be provided on Monday.

The closure was necessary to ensure the safety of users as a crack in a sewerage structure underneath the motorway caused by ground movement was also detected. Further investigations are being conducted to determine the reasons behind the ground movement that led to this crack.

The A13 motorway is heavily used by travelers heading west of Paris towards Normandy. The closure has caused significant disruptions in traffic, prompting the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture to advise travelers to choose alternative routes like A15 or A86 and avoid the affected area if possible. The closure has also led to the closure of Saint-Cloud estate gate and park to vehicles until Monday.

Local authorities and officials have expressed concerns about traffic congestion and have urged travelers to plan their journeys accordingly, especially during the expected busy weekend due to school holidays ending in Île-de-France region. The Mayor of Saint-Cloud described the traffic situation as chaotic and advised caution to travelers in the area. The closure of the A13 motorway is expected to have a significant impact on travel throughout
