Elysée awards Chef of the Quirinale, Macron impressed by his cuisine

Guillaume Gomez, Ambassador for gastronomy and Special Envoy of the French President Emmanuel Macron, recently presented Fabrizio Boca, the executive chef of the Presidency of the Italian Republic, with the insignia of Officer of the Ministerial Order of Agricultural Merit. This recognition came during a competition between French and Italian cuisine that highlighted Boca’s talent and skills in the culinary world.

Boca has had the honor to cook for prestigious guests such as kings, queens, and heads of state including Queen Elisabeth and Obama. His dishes have impressed Macron and his wife Brigitte who have been guests at the Quirinale. Over the years, Boca’s culinary creations have focused on promoting Italian regional excellence through the use of local products and traditional recipes.

The French Ambassador praised Boca’s decades-long career describing him as a curious and ambitious chef dedicated to sharing his knowledge. He recognized Boca’s innovative techniques, quality, creativity, and commitment to social inclusion. The award for Agricultural Merit represents a symbol of strong ties between France and Italy in terms of culture, history, and economy.

Boca’s passion for culinary arts extends beyond his work at the Quirinale as he has collaborated with various social inclusion projects such as working with people with Down syndrome through Italian Association. His dedication towards training young chefs reflects his commitment not only to excellence in cuisine but also social responsibility.
