The 2023-24 winter high school sports season is coming to a close with the announcement of the Elite All-Star teams. Over 80 athletes from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Corning Leader, and Ithaca Journal have earned Elite accolades. These selections cover boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling, boys and girls indoor track & field, boys swimming & diving, and boys and girls bowling.
In each sport, top athletes were chosen separately for the Greater Binghamton region and the Corning/Elmira/Ithaca region. The Elite selections were primarily based on voting from coaches, although the sports departments of the newspapers also provided some input. It’s important to note that not all coaches participated in the voting process.
The Elite All-Star teams represent the best of the best high school athletes in the region. These athletes have shown exceptional talent and dedication to their respective sports throughout the season. They are role models for other young athletes and serve as an inspiration to us all.
