Local 17-year-old achieves a master’s degree in computer science from Pitt

RJ Krishnaswamy, a 17-year-old from Pittsburgh, achieved a significant milestone in his education on Saturday. He received a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh, completing his bachelor’s degree at Pitt last year. RJ expressed his happiness and satisfaction in having something tangible to show for his hard work and dedication.

Reflecting on his academic journey, RJ mentioned the challenges he faced, including defending a thesis. Despite these challenges, he remained excited about celebrating this achievement. Professor Daniel Mosse of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh commended RJ for choosing the institution for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He praised RJ’s work and expressed pride in the accomplishments he has already achieved, noting a promising future with potential publications.

RJ is uncertain about his next steps but shared that he is awaiting a response from Pitt regarding the possibility of pursuing doctorate studies. The transition from undergraduate to graduate studies marks a new chapter in RJ’s academic pursuits, and he looks forward to what the future holds in terms of further education and research opportunities.
