The Family Science Week showcase event at the MTU Kerry North Campus over the weekend was a great success, as seen in a series of photos by Domnick Walsh. At the event, 10-year-old Eoin McMillan and Daithi Nolan were captured getting into the scientific spirit, while sisters August Culhane and Sheeryn Culhane were seen enjoying themselves.

Six-year-olds Keelan Wren, Aidan Nkomo, and Jayden Duma were also captured having fun at the VR experience. TY student Muireann Hussey from Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee was photographed testing the skin of Daithi Nolan at the event, which was part of National Science Week.

The showcase event included a wide range of activities, including robotics, weather forecasting, electric vehicle display, sustainable food making, zoology, book reading, children’s sustainable recycling workshop, slime experiments and more. Organizers described it as a fantastic day of free entertainment that filled the children with wonder at the range of activities available to them.
