During the 2024 Clash at the Castle premium live event, Damian Priest was able to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship with the help of CM Punk. However, after the match, concerns were raised about Priest’s health as he was seen limping, which led people to believe that he may have suffered a foot or leg injury. During the post-show press conference, Priest addressed his condition and mentioned that his ankle felt terrible but he hadn’t seen any medical staff yet as he wanted to speak with the press first. Despite this, Priest assured everyone that he wasn’t going anywhere and was ready to continue competing.
The worries about Priest’s injury started when he attempted a dive over the top rope onto his opponent Drew McIntyre. However, during the move, Priest’s leg slipped between the ropes and caused him to fall awkwardly with his foot stuck between them. McIntyre quickly acted to help free Priest from the ropes before continuing the match with a series of chops. Later in the match, CM Punk intervened as a referee by distracting McIntyre and allowing Priest to secure his victory with a South of Heaven move.
