Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, has faced backlash from the White House over allegations of promoting anti-Semitism. The White House has condemned Musk’s comments, stating that they are in direct opposition to the core values of Americans. In response to a post on X that “Jews are fueling hatred of whites,” Musk replied with “You speak the truth.” This sparked outrage and criticism from many.

The White House spokesperson emphasized the importance of unity against hate and called on individuals to speak out against attacks on the dignity of fellow Americans. They described the spread of such falsehoods as unacceptable, especially given the increase in anti-Semitic incidents since the war between Israel and Hamas. Companies and organizations are also taking action by suspending their advertisements on X in protest at the growing disinformation and hate messages on the platform. Among these entities are European Commission, IBM, Lions Gate Entertainment, Apple and many more.

Investors in Tesla have expressed concern about Musk’s actions and his potential impact on the car brand’s reputation. Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz has gone even further by calling for Musk to resign as Tesla CEO due to his controversial comments. As a result, Musk’s reputation is being tarnished both personally and professionally, which may lead to negative consequences for all his businesses.
