Milwaukee’s Welke’s Florist experienced a significant increase in sales leading up to Mother’s Day, thanks to inflation affecting the economy. Despite this, the shop remained committed to delivering high-quality products to its customers.
The florist, which has been operating for over a century and spans five generations of family ownership, saw a surge in demand for bouquets over the weekend. David Lang and his daughter Nikki Lemler worked tirelessly around the clock to meet the escalating demand. From Friday to Sunday on Mother’s Day, Welke’s expected to deliver over 2,000 bouquets to customers.
Lemler suggested that the holiday has become more of a traditional celebration, prompting people to return to classic gift-giving practices. The goal of the father-daughter team was not only to meet customer needs but also bring happiness and joy with each bouquet they created and sent out.
Welke’s originally began by cultivating cyclamen seeds brought from Germany by Lang’s great grandfather in 1901. Over the years, Welke’s has weathered economic challenges while maintaining its reputation for excellence. The shop remains committed to delivering high-quality products and bringing smiles and joy with every order they fulfill.
