Ryan Baker, a veteran sports journalist, has returned to his previous role as sports director at CBS 2 after serving as co-host of the morning news for over two years. Meanwhile, Marshall Harris, who had taken over the sports director position from Baker in July 2021, has left the station to focus on new projects.
Harris joined CBS Chicago from KOVR in Sacramento, California and brought with him a wealth of experience from his time at NBC Sports Philadelphia, Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh, and the Big Ten Network. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama and a Mississippi State graduate, Harris expressed his gratitude for his time at CBS Chicago and the great people he worked with there. He is currently enjoying the summer season in Chicago before moving on to new projects.
Baker, a native of south suburban Phoenix and a graduate of Thornridge High School and the University of Illinois, spent five years as a sports anchor at NBC 5 before joining CBS 2. He is known for his expertise in sports journalism and will continue to contribute it to the Chicago media landscape.
