The recent floods in Oman have claimed the lives of at least 18 people. In addition, heavy storms in the Gulf of Oman caused a ship carrying oil to capsize. Luckily, Iranian emergency services were able to rescue all 21 crew members, who were originally from Sri Lanka.

On Monday, torrential rains hit the region, including the Strait of Hormuz, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. These natural disasters caused significant damage and loss of life. The Cook Islands-flagged vessel went down about 50 kilometers off the southern city of Jask, according to reports from the official IRNA news agency. A rescue vessel was quickly dispatched to the area and all crew members were successfully saved. Five of the sailors required medical attention and were promptly treated by Jask emergency services. Thankfully, their physical condition is reported to be good.
