10 heart disease-causing dishes high in unhealthy fats

The consumption of fatty meats, poultry with skin, fast food, bacon, and processed meats can increase the risk of heart disease due to their high saturated fat content. Saturated fat is one of four types of fats, along with monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and trans fats. While monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are considered good for heart health, an excessive intake of saturated or trans fats can be harmful.

Saturated fat increases bad LDL cholesterol levels, a major risk factor for heart disease due to plaque buildup in the arteries. Trans fats not only increase LDL cholesterol but also decrease good HDL cholesterol levels, further increasing the risk of heart disease.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends limiting trans fat consumption to less than 1% of total calorie intake per day and saturated fat to less than 10%. Below are 10 foods that are rich in bad fats and should be limited for better heart health:
