Unfortunate Waffle House Crash: Third Incident in Wytheville in Recent Years, No Injuries Reported

A Tennessee driver crashed her car into a Wytheville Waffle House on Wednesday morning, fortunately causing no injuries. This marks the third time in recent years that a vehicle has collided with a business in the town. The driver, 61-year-old Robin Noe from Kingsport, explained that her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator as she attempted to park in front of the Waffle House, resulting in the crash through the glass and into the building.

The incident occurred at 1,400 East Main St. at 3:47 a.m., prompting police to be called to the scene. However, upon investigation, they found no evidence of driver impairment and did not press charges, considering it a private property incident to be settled by insurance companies.

In February 2023, another similar crash occurred at Wytheville’s Dollar Tree store when a 71-year-old woman mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal while attempting to park her Ford Taurus through the front of the business. Two people were injured in this incident, which is still being repaired today. Despite these occurrences, efforts are being made to ensure public safety and prevent such accidents from happening again in the future.
