UN Condemns Gaza Violence, But US Vetoes Distorted Proposal

The foreign minister welcomed the decision of the United States to veto a distorted proposal that was rejected by the UN Security Council. This came six months after the October 7th massacre, and despite numerous calls for justice, the Security Council failed to condemn the crimes of Hamas. Israel will not tolerate terrorism and will continue to fight until Hamas falls and all Israeli abductees are released.

Three weeks ago, the Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and the unconditional release of all abductees. However, despite being supported by fourteen countries, the United States chose not to vote on the resolution, leaving it up to other countries to enforce it. The UN Security Council emphasized the urgent need to increase aid to Gaza and demanded that all obstacles be removed in order for aid transfers to reach those who need them most.
