The University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst) is partnering with Indigenous communities across the U.S. and internationally to launch a new Center for Braiding Indigenous Knowledges and Science (CBIKS). This center, led by Sonya Atalay, PhD, provost professor of anthropology at UMass Amherst, aims to bring with each other Indigenous and Western scientists to fully grasp and address the interconnected impacts of environmental alter on meals, culture, and society.
CBIKS will collaborate with 57 Indigenous communities across eight international hubs to conduct analysis and create climate alter options.
