UM Continues to Make Progress in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings

The University of Montevallo has achieved its highest-ever ranking among Best Values Schools in the Regional South according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings. This marks the 15th consecutive year that the school has received high marks in various categories. Dr. John W. Stewart III, president of UM, expressed pride in the school’s continuous improvement and highlighted the No. 4 ranking in the Best Value category. This achievement is credited to the efforts of the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and staff in prioritizing students and their families.

In addition, Montevallo has made significant progress in other rankings. It has risen three spots to No. 7 among the Top Public Universities in the Regional South and two spots to No. 6 among Best Colleges for Veterans in the Regional South. UM has also broken into the Top 20 among overall Regional Universities in the South. Furthermore, the university has maintained its position within the Top 60 Performers on Social Mobility in the Regional South category. This recognition is bestowed upon institutions that excel in enrolling and graduating disadvantaged students who have been awarded Pell Grants.
