Hyeyoung Lim, Ph.D., associate professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s J. Frank Barefield, Jr. Division of Criminal Justice, has been chosen as the 2023-24 Education Ambassador of Larger Education by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). In this part, Lim will shape CFR Education’s educational solutions and share greatest practices for teaching international concerns even though fostering international civics advocacy amongst her students.
Lim will participate in a nine-month system that connects educators across the United States with sources, expert improvement activities, and a robust expert network. She was encouraged to apply for the system soon after getting impressed by the CFR’s performs through a two-day workshop in April.
The choice of Lim as the Education Ambassador acknowledges her commitment to preparing students for results in today’s connected planet by offering them with know-how, abilities, and a modern day viewpoint. Furthermore, it recognizes her interdisciplinary strategy to international affairs, incorporating international relations, history, public policy, economics, law, environmental research, and public wellness into her teaching method.
Lim is honored to be selected as CFR’s Ambassador of Larger Education and is excited about the chance to shape and strengthen CFR Education’s acclaimed educational solutions. Via this system, she hopes to share the greatest approaches to teaching international concerns and transform her students into advocates of international civics and planet education by sharing the know-how and abilities she gains.
As an ambassador, Lim will attend month-to-month concentrate groups, item overviews, and CFR professional insight sessions. She will also use and present feedback on CFR’s educational sources.
