This week, the Tulsa World will be recognizing the top high school athletes in the Tulsa area with its annual All-World Awards. The finalists for winter sports will be announced starting with boys and girls swimming on Wednesday, followed by boys and girls wrestling on Thursday, boys basketball on Friday, and girls basketball on Saturday. On Sunday, the All-State boys and girls basketball teams will be announced.
Last fall, athlete of the year finalists were recognized in football, cross country, volleyball, and softball. This year’s 2023-24 All-World honors will include football, softball, volleyball, girls cross country, and boys cross country.
Spring sports finalists will be revealed in early June along with winners for specialty awards such as best comeback, inspirational and scholar athletes as well as a lifetime achievement award recipient. The winners for athletes of the year in each sport will be announced at the eighth annual All-World Awards banquet presented by Bill Knight Automotive on Thursday, June 20 at Cox Business Convention Center’s Legacy Hall.
