College Sports Communicators Select Four Men’s Swimmers for Academic All-District® Teams

Four Tufts University swimmers have been recognized for their exceptional performance both in the pool and in the classroom by earning a spot on the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men’s Swimming & Diving Teams. The College Sports Communicators (CSC) selected graduate student Peter LaBarge along with juniors Emmett Adams, Charlie Duffy, and Eric Lundgren for this prestigious award. This is LaBarge’s second consecutive year receiving this recognition.

In order to be nominated, student-athletes must be significant contributors to their team with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA at their current institution. Each team is limited to four nominations, and individuals must compete in at least four competitions or finish in the top eight at a conference meet to be eligible. Adams studies psychology/clinical, Duffy studies human factors engineering, Lundgren studies environmental engineering, and LaBarge studies biology.

The Tufts team finished ninth at the NCAA Division III Championships in March and was the runner-up in the New England Small College Athletic Conference under the guidance of head coach Adam Hoyt. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees will have the opportunity to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first, second, and third-team honorees being announced on April 24th.
