Trump’s flying causes trouble for Biden in the polls

According to a survey published by the Wall Street Journal, former President Donald Trump is leading ahead of current President Joe Biden in six out of the seven crucial states for the upcoming presidential elections in November 2024. Trump’s lead is attributed to concerns about the US economy and the advanced age of the current president. Previously solidly blue states like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are now considered battlegrounds with Trump in the lead.

Polls indicate that Trump has a two-point advantage in Michigan and Pennsylvania, and a three-point advantage in Wisconsin. Additionally, Trump is leading in Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona, with leads of three, four, and five points respectively. Trump is also ahead in North Carolina, with greater support on issues pertaining to the economy, immigration, and fighting inflation.

Biden has an advantage on the issue of defending abortion and reproductive rights. However, concerns have been raised that ongoing conflict in Gaza could impact the November elections not only for the White House but also for Congress.

Democratic officials fear that protests against US support for Israel could affect their re-election chances as 55% of Americans oppose the war in Gaza while only 18% of Democratic voters are pro-Israel. Some groups are advocating for not voting for Biden in protest.

In addition to political implications of Gaza conflict fears exist about potential protests at Chicago convention and at Biden’s rallies and public events. Democratic lawmakers worry that these protests could affect Biden’s re-election campaign.

The situation in Gaza is expected to be a key factor in upcoming elections with potential consequences for both presidential race and Congress.

It will be interesting to see how events unfold leading up to November 2024 election cycle.
