World Central Kitchen reveals the identities of employees who lost their lives in Gaza

The recent tragedy has hit World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit organization that has been working tirelessly to deliver food to the people in Gaza. On March 12, seven WCK employees were killed by Israeli airstrikes while on their way back from a mission. The victims were among the WCK relief team and security team members who had been delivering over 100 tons of food to Gaza just days before the incident.

The Israeli Prime Minister expressed regret over the event, calling it an “unintended strike” and a “tragic event.” WCK founder José Andrés called on the Israeli government to put an end to indiscriminate killings and prevent any further loss of innocent lives. The employees who lost their lives in the airstrike had traveled around the world to participate in relief efforts following wars and natural disasters. A ship carrying 200 tons of food was scheduled to depart for Gaza on March 12, with more shipments planned in the future.

The deaths of these brave humanitarians have been mourned by their friends, families, and the wider humanitarian community. Their dedication and commitment to helping others will never be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire us all. As we honor their memory, let us also remember that there is still much work to be done in providing aid and support to those in need around the world.
