Breaking down the details of the L’Jarius Sneed deal

L’Jarius Sneed, a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, was hoping to become the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. However, his new contract details have revealed that he did not achieve this goal. The four-year deal he signed has an average payout of $19.1 million, which is lower than the $19.989 million franchise-tag salary for 2024.

Despite this, Sneed will still receive $25 million this year and $19 million in 2025. The contract includes a signing bonus of $20 million and various base salaries and roster bonuses for the upcoming years.

In 2024, his base salary is $4.32 million, fully guaranteed, with an additional per-game active roster bonus of $680,000 that must be earned. In 2025, the base salary is $18.32 million, fully guaranteed, with a per-game active roster bonus of $680,000. For 2026, the base salary is $15.15 million, with a portion guaranteed for injury at signing and the rest becoming fully guaranteed in March 2026. Additionally, there is a per-game active roster bonus of $850,000 for 2026. In 2027, the base salary is $15.55 million
