Thermonator: The Flamethrowing Robot Dog that’s Raising Controversy in the US

In the United States, a quadruped robot called Thermonator with a flamethrower is now available for sale, according to a digital site report. This device is powered by gasoline or napalm and has a one-hour battery life. It also features a sensor for cartographic mapping, ARC ignition, laser aiming, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for remote control via a smartphone. Residents of the country, except for those in Maryland and California, can legally purchase this flamethrowing robot dog online for less than 10 thousand dollars.

Thermonator was named after a fictional film robot that was part of a robotic revolution. The mechanical quadruped was introduced to the world last summer by Throwflame, which claims to be the oldest flamethrower manufacturer in the US. This is their fifth product and it has plasma arc ignition to launch fire at distances of up to nine meters and is mounted on a robot dog, likely a version of Unitree Go2. Throwflame designed Thermonator for agricultural management, ecological conservation, forest fire control and prevention, as well as snow and ice removal. Despite its intended purposes, the device is prepared for various scenarios. It was showcased in a recent video set to the song “Destroyer of Worlds Oppenheimer Remix” by Aaron Hibell. The company reported that the flamethrower would be available for sale by the end of the year and has generated a lot of interest and discussion online.
