PFF reveals Panthers’ top 3 players for the upcoming 2024 season

Trevor Sikkema, a Pro Football Focus analyst, has identified the Carolina Panthers’ top three players for the 2023 season. These include Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, and Jadeveon Clowney.

Brown is considered an obvious choice for this list due to his outstanding performance on the field. In 2023, he set the NFL’s single-season record for most tackles by a lineman and earned a career-high 90.9 overall defensive grade. Despite being injury-prone, Jaycee Horn has proven to be an effective cornerback with an impressive 84.1 overall mark in 2023. Meanwhile, Clowney, who was signed as a free agent last year, had the third-highest season grade of his career with an 85.7 overall mark.

It’s worth noting that no full-time Panthers offensive player earned a season grade above 78.0 in 2023. However, guard Robert Hunt was also considered for a spot in the top three due to his recent five-year, $100 million deal with the team. Sikkema highlighted all three players as crucial to the Panthers’ success in the upcoming season.

In conclusion, Sikkema believes that Brown is an obvious choice due to his impressive performance on the field, while Jaycee Horn and Jadeveon Clowney are also crucial to the team’s success despite their injury histories and age concerns respectively. Additionally, guard Robert Hunt was also considered due to his recent signing with the team and his potential impact on the offense.

Overall, these three players are expected to play key roles in helping the Panthers achieve their goals in the upcoming season and establish themselves as one of the top teams in the NFL once again.
