White House expresses outrage over deaths of seven humanitarian workers, Herzog issues apology

The White House expressed outrage over the mistaken killing of seven humanitarian workers in Gaza by the Israeli armed forces. President Joe Biden spoke with the founder of the NGO WCK, Josè Andres, to offer condolences as the victims were part of this organization. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean Pierre stated that President Biden was heartbroken by the incident and would emphasize to Israel the importance of protecting humanitarian workers.

Meanwhile, in London, the UK Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador following the death of three British nationals among the seven operators killed in an airstrike. Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Andrew Mitchell called for a swift and transparent investigation with full accountability to be shared with the international community. Israeli President Isaac Herzog later apologized for the airstrike and expressed deep sorrow and sincere apologies to Josè Andres for the tragic loss of life.
