PFF Not Satisfied with Giants’ Offensive Line Improvements during Offseason

The New York Giants had a difficult 2023 season, particularly with their offensive line. They allowed an astonishing 85 sacks, making them one of the worst in football. While injuries played a part in their struggles, there were also issues with the development of key players like Evan Neal and John Michael Schmitz, as well as inconsistency from Andrew Thomas.

To address these concerns, general manager Joe Schoen made the offensive line a priority during free agency. He added Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor, Matt Nelson, Austin Schlottmann, and Aaron Stinnie to the mix. However, despite these additions, Pro Football Focus still ranks the Giants’ offensive line as one of the worst in the league.

The Giants are hoping that Eluemunor and Runyan can make a significant impact on the inside of the line. However, much of their success will depend on how well players like Neal perform at right tackle. If he continues to struggle, he may be benched or moved to guard in favor of Eluemunor.

Overall, if the Giants want to find success in 2024 season they need to improve their offensive line performance significantly as it was very poor in 2023 season and even though there is potential for improvement but it remains to be seen if new additions and returning players can elevate the unit’s performance
