In 1979, David Katz founded Alternative Energy Engineering (AEE Solar) in Redway, California with a focus on off-grid equipment. Over the years, the company grew to become a major player in the residential solar market in California. In 2014, AEE Solar was acquired by Sunrun along with SnapNrack.
Just last year, AEE Solar opened a massive distribution center in Visalia, California, signaling their commitment to serving their customers until the very end. However, it is with heavy hearts that they have announced they will be closing their doors on May 3, 2024. As part of the closure, they are currently selling off their remaining inventory at clearance prices.
