Recognizing signs of skin aging is simple

As people age, their skin undergoes various changes that are characteristic of the aging process. These changes include dryness, thinness, loss of elasticity, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. Dr. Quach Thi Bich Van, a Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology Specialist at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasizes that the condition of the skin is a clear indicator of aging.

Skin aging is a gradual process that begins around the age of 25 when the skin starts to lose density and essential proteins like collagen and elastin. This gradual loss leads to a decrease in firmness and smoothness, becoming more evident around the age of 35. Wrinkles, particularly in areas prone to movement like the eyes, forehead, mouth, and cheeks, are early signs of aging due to decreased elastin and collagen levels. Skin thinning, reduced skin function, dryness, and decreased elasticity also manifest as the skin ages.
