Report: Veteran Bangladeshi Pacer Misses T20 World Cup Game Against India After Oversleeping

Bangladesh cricket team veteran fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was reported to have missed the T20 World Cup 2024 match against India due to oversleeping. According to a report, Taskin was unable to be reached by the team management as he was sleeping in his room and ended up missing the team bus before the game. A team official had to stay back at the hotel to contact Taskin, who eventually joined the squad late at the venue. Despite his late arrival, Taskin played in the next game against Afghanistan.

Taskin apologized to his teammates for missing the bus and oversleeping, urging not to make a big issue out of it. Head coach Chandika Hathurusingha did not comment on the matter. Fans and experts were surprised that Taskin was not included in the playing XI against India, despite his strong performance in previous matches.

India went on to win the match against Bangladesh by 50 runs, with notable performances from Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Shivam Dube. Their strong batting display secured a crucial victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
