Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to host a special event during Saluki Startup, the annual welcome festival for new and returning students. The event, known as Taste of Carbondale, will take place on August 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at SIU’s Student Services Building pavilion. Organizers are currently seeking local businesses to sponsor the event.
During Taste of Carbondale, Salukis and their families will have the chance to sample a variety of delicious food and beverages from local establishments. While the focus is on food and beverage businesses, all types of local businesses are invited to become sponsors. Sponsors will have the opportunity to engage with attendees at the event and promote their brand.
The event is an extension of orientation and engagement opportunities for new Salukis, providing them with an opportunity to get better acquainted with the campus, make new friends, and experience more of SIU before classes begin. Sponsorship packages start at $500 and will help cover the costs of providing food samples. Sponsors will also have their company logos featured on the Taste of Carbondale website and may have additional promotional opportunities.
Businesses interested in becoming sponsors for Taste of Carbondale should contact William Lo at the Chamber of Commerce by May 31
