Suspicious Package Leads to Evacuation of Business in Lower Macungie; Route 100 Now Open Again | Lehigh Valley Regional News

Around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, reports of a suspicious package led to the evacuation of a business in Lehigh County. The incident took place at Ryder Logistics warehouse on Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township. Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky confirmed that the area was evacuated and part of Route 100 was temporarily closed. While the road has since reopened, Congdon Hill Drive remains closed at Spring Creek Road. Traffic was heavily affected in the area due to the incident, causing delays for commuters and businesses alike.

Shortly after 2 p.m., the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to assist in the investigation, along with K9s and the state police explosives team. The investigation is still ongoing as of 4:30 p.m., with multiple businesses located near Ryder Logistics being evacuated as a precaution.
