Famous ski and snowboard manufacturer files for bankruptcy

KSV1870 reports that the debtor is planning to continue operations in an effort to make the most of its existing resources and determine whether it is possible to develop a restructuring plan. The company was founded in 2009 and has been attempting to operate out of the former premises of a snowboard factory since 2021. Its goal was to establish a new ski and snowboard production facility for premium-class products in Fürnitz. However, the pandemic and its aftermath have resulted in declining retail sales, leading to significant debt. Bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated at the Klagenfurt Regional Court, with liabilities amounting to 2.274 million euros.

The company currently employs only three people, but its online platform offers a wide range of products for individual board sports enthusiasts, as well as companies that produce small series for special occasions. Antero GmbH’s offer includes individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information on the board sports scene.

In the 2022 financial year, Apricum GmbH recorded an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros with negative equity of 489,000 euros. Approximately 600,000 euros in liabilities relate to profit participation rights. Despite these challenges, the debtor remains committed to continuing operations and hopes to find a way forward through restructuring efforts.
