Steph loves ‘motivated Klay’ displaying in Dubs’ win more than Suns initially appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Steph Curry knows that there is no deadlier player in the NBA than a fired-up Klay Thompson and Monday evening at Chase Center proved just that.

Speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Bob Fitzgerald and Kelenna Azubuike following the Warriors’ 123-112 win more than the Phoenix Suns, Curry explained how a great deal he relishes the chance to play with an inspired Thompson.

“I adore motivated Klay,” Curry explained. “You know, what ever it requires to get him locked in and focused, there is been a lot of chirping back and forth and the narratives about us playing Phoenix, him and [Devin Booker] and all that — two good scorers going at it.”

Monday night’s matchup among the two squads showcased just how good of a scorer Thompson is. In the initial half, the 32-year-old had 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting from the field and eight of 12 from three-point land.

All round, Thompson completed with 38 points, eclipsing his preceding higher of 29 points against the Suns on Jan. ten. The Warriors star also helped Golden State win its initial game of the season against Phoenix.

With the Warriors playing the Suns for the final time till potentially the 2023 NBA playoffs and with the history among the two teams — which includes Thompson’s initial profession ejection after obtaining into a heated altercation with Booker — the Splash Brother created certain to come out added motivated, which Curry enjoyed.

“So the way he came out is just determined,” the reigning NBA Finals MVP mentioned. “We know he can get hot like that at any point, but it seemed like he had a small added edge tonight so it was good to see.”

As the standard season winds down, the Warriors are operating out of time to place points collectively for their playoff push.

Nevertheless if Thompson can continue playing “motivated” as Curry mentioned, Golden State could make some noise in the coming weeks.
