At the Under-17 World Cup, Barcelona forward Marc Guiu scored another goal to help Spain advance to the quarter-finals. In their final group fixture, Spain defeated Japan 2-1. Quim Junyent, Guiu’s teammate at Barcelona, also found the back of the net in the game.
Spain’s captain Quim Junyent opened the scoring after just eight minutes of play, and Japan equalized five minutes before halftime. In the second half, Junyent provided an assist to Guiu, who scored the winning goal and secured Spain’s spot in the quarter-finals. Junyent was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance on the field.
Spain will now face either Germany or USA in a semi-final match. If they come up against Germany, they will encounter Noah Darvich from their own club Barcelona on the field once again. Darvich has been performing well for his national side and could pose a threat to Spain’s defense.
