On Friday morning, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport announced a new baggage check-in service for Southwest Airlines customers. Located at the economy garage, which is open 24/7, this service is designed to improve the overall experience for passengers flying with Southwest Airlines.
Passengers are required to check their bags at least two hours prior to their flight and can do so by taking a 15-minute shuttle ride from the airport. The economy garage offers 2,438 parking spaces and as of 10:10 a.m. on Friday, only 111 were available due to high demand during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. However, all other parking lots were at full capacity.
This new service aims to provide Southwest Airlines customers with an easy and efficient way to handle their checked luggage. With limited parking spaces available at the economy garage, passengers are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot. The airport’s website reported that all other parking lots were at capacity during the holiday weekend, highlighting the importance of planning ahead when it comes to parking at the airport. Despite the high demand for parking, the economy garage remains a viable option for Southwest Airlines customers looking to check in their bags before their flights.
