SGMC Health’s Hospitalist Practice Recognized as Program of the Year by Apogee Physicians for Exceptional Patient Care

In 2016, SGMC Health partnered with Apogee Physicians, a hospitalist group that specializes in the care of hospitalized patients. Since then, the hospitalist practice at SGMC Health has demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication to patient care, leading to its recent recognition as the Program of the Year by Apogee’s national leadership.

Hospitalists provide consistent and comprehensive care throughout a patient’s stay in the hospital, unlike other doctors who split their time between the hospital and their office. The practice at SGMC Health is led by Program Directors Phillip Alscher, MD, and Dhaval Patel, DO. Their team has shown a commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Dr. Alscher expressed his gratitude for the award, emphasizing their dedication to providing high-quality care to patients. Chief Medical Officer Pankaj Agrawal, MD, also commended the Apogee Physicians team for their focus on clinical excellence and setting a new standard in hospital medicine.

The Program of the Year Award is a significant milestone for Apogee Physicians at SGMC Health, showcasing their leadership in hospitalist care and their commitment to improving patient outcomes. This recognition highlights their outstanding contributions and sets a benchmark for hospitalist practices nationwide.
