At the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Poland took an early lead against the Netherlands in the first match of Group D at EURO 2024. The goal was scored after a corner kick delivered by Roma’s Nicola Zalewski, who was one of four Serie A players representing Poland. Other Serie A players in the squad included Wojciech Szczesny of Juventus, Piotr Zielinski set to join Inter, and Kacper Urbanski from Bologna.
On the Dutch side, several players from the Eredivisie were also present, including Inter’s Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij, along with Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders. The presence of so many talented players from both leagues made for an exciting matchup at the European Championship.
