On March 14, 2024, tornadoes struck Central Ohio, causing significant damage to homes, apartments, and businesses. Tragically, lives were lost and many others sustained serious injuries as a result of the tornadoes. While the impact was felt across 11 counties in the region, the economic damage in Logan County has been particularly severe. In response to this devastation, Governor DeWine has requested a disaster declaration from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for Logan County. This declaration would provide support for businesses and homes that were damaged by the tornadoes.
U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and J.D. Vance (R-OH) have joined forces with Governor DeWine to advocate for disaster assistance in Logan County. The senators believe that the SBA’s support is crucial in helping families and businesses recover from the economic losses suffered as a result of the tornadoes. By securing a disaster declaration for Logan County, Senator Brown and Senator Vance hope to ensure that communities receive the help they need to rebuild and move forward after this natural disaster.
In addition to their efforts in Logan County, Senators Brown and Vance have also urged the Biden Administration to issue a FEMA disaster declaration for several other counties in Ohio that were affected by tornadoes on March 14th. These counties include Auglaize, Crawford, Darke, Delaware, Hancock, Licking, Mercer, Miami, Richland
